Startribune reports: New Child Support Rules Spark Backlash

Just as I have been working on a series of blog posts on the new Minnesota Child Support Guidelines, the Startribune comes out with an interesting article: “New Child Support Rules Spark Backlash.”  I suppose I’ll use this article and kick off a week dedicated to child support blog posts.

While this article does provide some reasoning behind the new child support system (by considering both parents’ income “[i]t was hailed as a fairer system that would be more acceptable to embattled parents.”) and includes some interesting commentary from parents, attorneys, and others, the article does not really explain how the new system works.

Check out the article and stay posted for more on Minnesota’s child support laws.
